We believe in the power of community to create positive change.

​​A Church, Inc is a REGISTERED 501c3 community project that works to promote connection and provide an open space for nonprofits, civic groups and individuals working for positive change.

 

In 2016, local resident Sheree Beddingfield purchased the church with a vision of preserving the HISTORIC building while supporting community arts, recreation, social service and education efforts. She envisioned an inclusive gathering space that could be used for organizing, for celebration, for mourning, and connecting with others. 

 

We are an open-minded, open-hearted place to gather with others to share ideas, deepen our understanding, connect with people that we live with and to consciously give back to the town of Salida that we love. WE ARE PROUDLY LGBTQ+ FRIENDLY

A Church also hosts weddings, events, private parties, lectures/discussions, THEATER and music.  ​Our stage, sound and lighting will make A Church the VENUE for you. WE ARE LOCATED in downtown Salida, Colorado.

Seeking Volunteers

For a nonprofit venue, volunteers are not just helpful—they are often the backbone of its mission, operations, and community impact. Their contributions allow the venue to function, expand its reach, and sustain its programs without the prohibitive costs of full-time staffing for every role

Becoming a Sustaining Member

Monthly sponsors help defer costs for programs and events.

Community Outreach

A Church community events are free!

Crafting Club - every Friday 9:00 A.M. - 1:00 P.M

Bring a project, sewing machines, iron, fabric, fun and pizza provided.

Sandia Hearing - second Wednesday of the month.

Offers Free hearing screening. Call 719-634-6260 to schedule an appointment.

Open Mic - Typically last Sunday of every month 12:00 P.M. - 2:00 P.M. 

This open mic is about connection, creativity, and community. It’s a place where new voices are heard, and every performance is celebrated.

Central Colorado Humanists Sunday Science - first Sunday of the month 10:00 A.M. - 12:00 P.M

There is no admission, but we do welcome donations to cover the cost of coffee, tea, juice, and the facility.

Weddings & Celebrations

Our delightful and intimate space is adaptable for all of your Wedding celebration needs. 

LGBTQ+ and immigrant friendly​​.

  • We can accommodate all of your wedding celebration needs including: Chick & Hen Parties, your rehearsal Dinner, ceremony, food service, after party and send off brunches.

  • Two separate rooms for privacy and space to prepare for the celebration in privacy.

  • Our Chapel is a gem of classic, turn of the century charm.

  • A space for a formal or informal ceremony with seating in our  pews for up to 120 guests.

  • Our Upper Room can accommodate up to 50 people for a formal meal.

  • Our patio has seating for 20 guests, a bar, acoustic music and outdoor games.

  • Entire venue, sound system, & stage lights are included.

  • We can accommodate sound for a DJ or live band and dancing in our versatile Chapel space.
